How to Use a Neti Pot in Three Simple Steps

One of nasal irrigation system that is widely used in the United States is the Neti Pot. Through the use of odd little ceramic teapot, all the little nooks and crannies that you have in the sinus is removed from the slime. Nasal cleansing technique may feel strange when it is run, but this natural method of medical treatment may be more effective than drugs. This is because the mechanical flushes out the main cause of sinusitis is attached to the nasal cavity - mucus.

If you are one of those millions of people who suffer from chronic sinusitis, follow these simple steps to relieve your sinusitis symptoms:

Step One: Prepare solutions Saline Mix about one pint (or 16 ounces) of warm water with a teaspoon of salt. Then fill the Neti Pot with saline solution. For some people, putting half a teaspoon of baking soda into the solution making it gentle on the nose.

Why does it need warm water with salt? Using regular water can be irritating to your sinuses. If you use cold water, it may make you feel that you are drowning in a swimming pool. saline, or salt water, on the other hand, is a natural solution to the mucous membranes. The simple truth is that the bacteria need water to grow, but the germ strips salt water, so the salt water is a solution that you can use to clean the neti pot.

When you have a sinus infection, inflamed and infected mucous membranes, and your sinus secretions become too sticky. If not washed out of your sinuses, it causes headaches, facial pain, and nasal passages. Saltwater thins mucus, or a sticky secretion, to help flush out of your nose. This reduces the size of the inflamed tissue by drawing out excess moisture. When the smaller the inflamed tissue, the openings of the sinuses become larger. This, in turn, make slime, together with bacteria, allergens, and other irritants that cause sinus problems, drain better.

Step Two: Cleaning nose at the First Nose Tilt your head to one side about 45 degrees, and place the spout of the Neti Pot into your nostrils lifted. Slowly pour the saline solution into the nostrils. Remember to breathe through your mouth as the fluid flows in the upper nostril and out the lower your nose.

Because this solution will flow through your nasal cavity, it is possible that the fluid will run into your throat. Just in case this happens, just spit it out.

Step Three: Cleaning the nose on Second Nose Blow your nose to clear it of any remaining salt solution. Neti Pot you refill and repeat the process described in Step Two for your other nostril.

If you experience nasal irritation or stinging, or other mild side effects, try to do the following modifications to minimize reactions undesirable:

- Reduce the amount of salt in solution

- Set the frequency of use

- Changes in water temperature

Remember, it is still recommended that you consult with your family physician, or ear, nose, and throat specialist before trying this treatment on your own nasal irrigation.
